The motivating force behind recent oil paintings by Lin Fu-nan is that he is clearly keen to craft a monument for the times. “The Native Returns 2007” marks an attempt to depict the depth of the artist’s feelings for the ancient capital of Tainan through abstract painting. 1994年楊樹煌從旅居21年的法國歷經波折回到台灣，開始人生的第二章。有一批迷失的作品：1987-1994年，是這位台灣戰後第一代畫家在解嚴後穿越國界、跨過命運變奏留下的斷代之作，也是畫家人身被禁錮到解禁時一個壯麗的轉折投注在畫布上的體現。由於迷失作品多年後重回現實，無意中為楊樹煌四十多歲時的遭遇和創作，添加戲劇性的張力。這些作品的發表有別於過去，是美麗的第二章
