近年文建會主辦台北藝博會，希望透過藝術活動，把市場炒熱也把台灣行銷出去，現在市場的熱度包括拍賣和當代藝術不理性的所謂「跳漲」，到底是一種文化成就之後的收成，還是另一種金錢遊戲？只需看看媒體上有誰在談論文化就像在談論畫價漲跌與市場的廝殺那般激動與投入，就可以明白原來台灣的藝術品收藏，根本不是一連串心靈火花爆開後的行為

The motivating force behind recent oil paintings by Lin Fu-nan is that he is clearly keen to craft a monument for the times. “The Native Returns 2007” marks an attempt to depict the depth of the artist’s feelings for the ancient capital of Tainan through abstract painting. 林復南2007年的油畫創作，所要表現的主要是對逝水年華的追憶。他的「回鄉2007」系列，再現的不是具體有形的東西，而是畫家個人的情感，包括對歲月消逝、城市遞變的感觸，以及對童年往事的無盡緬懷。他說：「縱觀歷史的演變，逃不出時間、歲月殘酷踏著過往一點一滴流著汗、血，咬上心靈深處。」

1994年楊樹煌從旅居21年的法國歷經波折回到台灣，開始人生的第二章。有一批迷失的作品：1987-1994年，是這位台灣戰後第一代畫家在解嚴後穿越國界、跨過命運變奏留下的斷代之作，也是畫家人身被禁錮到解禁時一個壯麗的轉折投注在畫布上的體現。由於迷失作品多年後重回現實，無意中為楊樹煌四十多歲時的遭遇和創作，添加戲劇性的張力。這些作品的發表有別於過去，是美麗的第二章
